Good dog
Notice the suspect behind the car, firing a gun - you
see the smoke from the muzzle,
and a split second later -
the Shepherd Police Dog leaps across the roof of the
auto, clamps onto the suspect, and brings him down so
quickly - you'll watch it several times to really
appreciate the valor of this dog.
This police dog is so fast, you have to watch this a few
times to appreciate it. Go dog, go!!

Earth Hour 2009 - Started in Sydney, Australia in 2007, Earth Hour quickly grew into a global observance. More than 1,000 cities in over 80 countries observed Earth Hour 2009 on Saturday March 28th, as homes, office towers and landmarks turned off their lights for an hour starting at 8.30 pm local time to raise awareness about climate change and the threat from rising greenhouse gas emissions. Collected here are a series of before-and-after photographs - which (starting with the second one below) will fade between "on" and "off" when clicked. Let me state that again, since I know not everyone reads the whole intro here - starting with image #2 below, click

10 Reasons To Become A Nurse
1. Pays better than fast food, though the hours aren't as good.
"agree with this and the hours suck big time. How's for sleeping when the sun is up and working when the moon is out. That will make for crazy making as well"
2. Fashionable shoes & sexy white uniforms.
" Not anymore...wear those cutesy scrubs so no one can tell nurse from housekeeper"
3. Needles: It's better to give than to receive.
"now with this I'm an expert "
4. Reassure your patients that all bleeding stops... eventually.
" I hate to see blood!....I don't do it. I'd rather help a forgotten soul. Course there are those who are captives of "drugs and alcohol" and do some foolish things out there!
5. Expose yourself to rare, exotic, & exciting new diseases.
" So very true! So far..exposed to TB and had to go through 9 mos of treatment. Almost destroyed my liver taking that medication..But I survived!" Then there is Hep B & C.. not to mention HIV"
6. Interesting aromas.
No kidding!....try working with the homeless or some mentally ill who run from water or don't have the means! Or someone so depressed they don't care!
7. Courteous & infallible doctors who always leave clear orders in perfectly legible handwriting.
" that's a skill that really challenges your intelligence and patience. "
8. Do enough charting to navigate around the world.
" That's a FACT. Maybe if one didn't have to chart as much, one could take care of the patient. But have to cover oneself with all the legalities imposed"
9. Celebrate the holidays with all your friends.... at work.
"Oh, now this is the fun part!..What holidays with what friends?"
10. Take comfort that most of your patients survive no matter what you do to
" Not exactly certain about this anymore! Catch more infections in the hospital than what you came in with. For me, I'm not staying any longer than necessary and maybe not even then"
BOTTOM LINE: I love my work..even with the sacrifices both physically and mentally. Only God knows for how much longer I can give in service to others!
But someone has to do it....for "but for the grace of God go I"...and I may need a nurse as well ! SO LOVE A NURSE...SHE/HE DESERVES IT!! | |
